Your Sentimental Moment of the Week

As most of you know, I visited Michael, Noelle and little Mikey in the hospital last night. Mike and Noelle are doing great-- look somewhat tired, but relaxed and very happy. Mikey was sleepy and content, and didn't make a peep even when being handed around the room more than an hors d'oevre tray.

But the classic observation came from Michael, who proclaimed his new son to be like a campfire. To paraphrase slightly: "You know how you can just stare at one for hours, completely mesmerized, even though it's not really DOING anything?"

The New Addition

Michael McKay (aka Mikey) has arrived... and he's HUGE!!!! Baby Mikey was born at 12:45 pm today-- 21 and 1/2 inches long, and a whopping 9 pounds, 11 ounces!

Holy Exploding Transformers

You all know the place: the corner of Grove & Columbus near the PATH train stop. There's a Subway sandwich shop at the corner. Apparently an electric transformer blew up there today.

Monday afternoon I was sitting on Plum Island beach, in jeans and a light sweater with no coat, basking in the sun and 61 degree temps. Right now I'm about to leave work, closing early because of a snowstorm. Sigh.

isn't supposed to be taken literally. : ) Perhaps we're all just busy or sick of winter? I miss you all.
