A completely different conceptualization of the banal...I bet the text could be made even more banal by changing "Students with birthdays" to something like "Dust bunnies under the bed". What do you think?
But bunnies are cute and fuzzy, which doesn't say "banal" -- to me, at least.How about "Units in inventory?"
